Caroline Food Pantry
Distributions on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month
In addition to food, the Caroline Food Pantry also collects personal care products, school supplies, clothing, especially children’s clothing, diapers, toys, car seats, high chairs and kitchen supplies and distributes these free to clients. The food pantry also does emergency distributions
between the regular sessions. Catholic Charities is available at every distribution to provide personal care products such as toilet paper, toothpaste, soap and shampoo. Though their grant is small and they have limited quantities, these items are available to everyone regardless of religion.
The pantry always welcomes donations and appreciates volunteers. If you have to do community service for a school project or because of a court order this is a great way to take care of that. Of course most of our volunteers do it because helping at food pantry is fun! If your large group would
like to volunteer, please schedule this in advance so that we can give some of our regulars a night off. If it’s one or two people it’s OK to just show up. There are jobs available for people who are not physically fit, so don’t let that stop you. We start packing boxes for delivery at 5 p.m.
Donations of food, personal care products, clothing or kitchen supplies can be dropped off during any distribution, or call Pat at 539-9928 or e-mail lsparrow@hotmail.com to schedule a pick up or drop off time. Cash donations are very much appreciated. Checks can be made out to the Caroline
Food Pantry and sent to 3185 Slaterville Rd., Brooktondale, N.Y. 14817. Through the Food Bank of the Southern Tier we buy things like yogurt at $1 a case, so we can stretch your dollars to help feed about 350 people at each distribution.
